Jennifer Cabot
Paralegal
Jennifer Cabot joined the firm in May 2020 as a law clerk while completing the Law Society of Ontario’s Paralegal Licensing Process. In November 2020 Jennifer successfully obtained her P1 Paralegal License and is now a permanent member of the Zare Paralegal team.
Prior to completing her Paralegal Diploma from Mohawk College in June 2020, Jennifer completed a Masters Degree in Social Justice and Equity Studies, as well as an Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Studies and Sociology from Brock University. Jennifer effectively uses the skills she obtained throughout her education when advocating on behalf of injured workers.
Jennifer approaches our clients with a friendly and empathetic demeanor. Throughout the day Jennifer is often drafting submissions for client matters, completing legal research or on the phone speaking with clients, case managers, medical professionals, and Tribunal staff. Jennifer represents clients at both the WSIB and the WSIAT levels of appeal.
In her spare time Jennifer enjoys cooking, baking, walking her dog, spending time with family and friends and playing soccer.

Carin Pelka
Paralegal
Carin Pelka has been a Paralegal with the Zare Paralegal Services team since 2015, and she has over 40 years of experience in the field of WSIB. Following her retirement from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, she became licensed as a Paralegal in 2008 and has dedicated her second career to advocacy for injured workers.
Nothing gets by Carin with her keen attention to detail, and she uses this skill effectively in achieving results for our clients. She also regularly represents our clients at their hearings at both the WSIB and the WSIAT levels of appeal.
In her spare time, Carin is an avid skier, and enjoys the winter season. She is also musically inclined, having played in a band for 43 years. When she’s not skiing or playing in her band, she loves spending time with her “fur babies”.

Nicole Sun
Senior Law Clerk
Since 2014, Nicole has been working closely with Michelle in her role as Senior Law Clerk. Holding degrees in Anthropology and Education, Nicole has excellent communication and writing skills, putting them to effective use in her daily interactions with our clients, case managers, medical professionals, and Tribunal staff. Nicole approaches her role with dedication and efficiency, while always maintaining an empathetic approach when assisting our clients.
It is not uncommon for Nicole to be on the phone for most of the day, as she actively follows up on issues as they arise in our clients’ matters. Multi-tasker extraordinaire, Nicole also assists in legal research and drafting of submissions, while over-seeing the work of the support staff in the office.
In her spare time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and enjoying the food and arts culture of Hamilton.

Julianna Chiarini
Administrative Assistant
Julianna joined the Zare Paralegal Services team in 2018 as our Administrative Assistant. She is the first voice you hear on the telephone when you call, and the first face you see when you come in through our door. Julianna exudes kindness and professionalism and upon entering the office, her bright and bubbly personality lets clients know they will be well cared for.
In addition to manning the phones and greeting our clients, Julianna assists in the day to day management of our office and client files. Her organization and cheerful demeanor is what makes her a great and continuing addition to the Zare team.
When she’s not at work, Julianna enjoys spending time with friends and family, and playing soccer.
