Jennifer Cabot joined the firm in May 2020 as a law clerk while completing the Law Society of Ontario’s Paralegal Licensing Process. In November 2020 Jennifer successfully obtained her P1 Paralegal License and is now a permanent member of the Zare Paralegal team.
Prior to completing her Paralegal Diploma from Mohawk College in June 2020, Jennifer completed a Masters Degree in Social Justice and Equity Studies, as well as an Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Studies and Sociology from Brock University. Jennifer effectively uses the skills she obtained throughout her education when advocating on behalf of injured workers.
Jennifer approaches our clients with a friendly and empathetic demeanor. Throughout the day Jennifer is often drafting submissions for client matters, completing legal research or on the phone speaking with clients, case managers, medical professionals, and Tribunal staff. Jennifer represents clients at both the WSIB and the WSIAT levels of appeal.
In her spare time Jennifer enjoys cooking, baking, walking her dog, spending time with family and friends and playing soccer.
Carin Pelka has been a Paralegal with the Zare Paralegal Services team since 2015, and she has over 40 years of experience in the field of WSIB. Following her retirement from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, she became licensed as a Paralegal in 2008 and has dedicated her second career to advocacy for injured workers.
Nothing gets by Carin with her keen attention to detail, and she uses this skill effectively in achieving results for our clients. She also regularly represents our clients at their hearings at both the WSIB and the WSIAT levels of appeal.
In her spare time, Carin is an avid skier, and enjoys the winter season. She is also musically inclined, having played in a band for 43 years. When she’s not skiing or playing in her band, she loves spending time with her “fur babies”.
