Senior Law Clerk and Case Manager
Nicole has worked at Zare Paralegal Services since 2014, where she first worked as an administrative assistant and quickly moved into her current role of Senior Law Clerk and Case Manager.
Nicole earned an Honours B.A. from McMaster University with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Indigenous Studies, where she graduated summa cum laude. Shortly afterward, Nicole earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Brock University’s Faculty of Education, specializing in primary/junior education. After taking a hiatus to raise her children, Nicole returned to the workforce and began her career at Zare Paralegal Services, where she continues to utilize her excellent research, writing and interpersonal skills to advocate for our growing client base.
Nicole specializes in CPP Disability applications and appeals, actively supporting the Paralegals in preparing their cases for success. She assists in case law research, medical file reviews and drafting WSIB appeal submissions before the WSIB Appeal Services Division and the WSIAT. Daily, Nicole handles all appeal implementation activities, to make sure that following a successful appeal, our clients receive the benefits they are owed in a timely manner. Nicknamed the “Enforcer”, Nicole has unparalleled organizational skills to stay on top of outstanding decisions and payments. While doing this, she also manages our clients’ files to ensure their access to benefits and treatment is maintained, and to address any claim-related issues as they arise. Nicole is passionate about advocating for our clients as they navigate the WSIB or CPPD system within a context of psychological and/or physical injury, and she approaches her role with dedication and efficiency while always maintaining a compassionate approach.
Outside of the office, Nicole volunteers as Registrar and sits on the Executive Board of the Coronation Minor Hockey Association. Her hobbies include gardening and cooking, spending time with friends and family, reading, weightlifting and enjoying the food, arts and music culture of Hamilton.
