Laura obtained her Paramedic Diploma from Fleming College in 2009 and Advanced Care Paramedic Certificate from Durham College in 2017. With a decade of experience as a first responder, Laura brings a unique and invaluable perspective to her role as a paralegal. Her background in emergency services has endowed her with a profound understanding of the physical and psychological challenges faced by injured workers, particularly those dealing with mental stress injuries.
Laura obtained her Paralegal Diploma from Fleming College in 2021 and then obtained her P1 Paralegal License from the Law Society of Ontario. Transitioning from a first responder to a paralegal has allowed Laura to leverage her extensive field experience in advocating for injured workers. She is deeply committed to advocating for injured workers, with a special focus on mental stress claims and psychological injuries. Her dedication to this area of WSIB law stems from firsthand experiences and the recognition of the critical need for compassionate and effective representation for those facing these often overlooked but significant challenges.
Outside of her professional life, Laura is an actively involved in her community, particularly through supporting her son’s sports teams. She cherishes the opportunity to contribute to the development and enjoyment of youth sports. In her personal time, she is passionate about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Her hobbies include exercise and fitness, which is a cornerstone to her daily routine. Additionally, she is currently dedicated to training for her first marathon, a goal that reflects her commitment to personal growth and perseverance.
